Summary: Members of the Royal Military Police and British civilian policemen train members of the Iraq Police (emergency police battalion) at Shaibah Regional Training Centre. Helmet cam footage.
Description: Extended scenes inside Merlin helicopter in flight (many of the seats are unoccupied, a few are occupied by training personnel and crew). Rear door and gun can be seen. (Poor sound.) Disembarkation at Shaibah; Land Rovers arrive. (Note second video cameraman shooting footage of the Merlin.) The assembly are showered with dust and sand as the helicopter takes off. Liaison with the soldiers at Shaibah regarding filming, and informal talk with instructors and camera crew. Troops from the Royal Regiment of Scotland (1st Battalion ?) are present. The party enters an administration block at the base. Outside: Iraqi Police are training in the stopping of vehicles and the searching of buildings (brief scenes). Iraqi Army on patrol with band playing. Afterwards, the trainers get back on board Merlin helicopters for the return journey to Basra; cameraman is on the second helicopter with a section of soldiers.
