  • Description: START 00:00:00 Bars. 00:00:30 Image intensifier footage with no sound shows members of 1st Battalion the Staffordshire Regiment talking with members of the Iraqi Police Service (IPS). Iraqi police cars are parked nearby; they are also seen driving past the camera with their flashing lights turning. IPS members stand by the roadside. British troops keep watch from the top of a Snatch Land Rover; IPS gunner on the back of a pick up truck removes tape from the muzzle of his gun. 00:05:59 Searches of the roadside are carried out at 5-metres and 20-metres. 00:07:00 Scenes at target location with Warrior armoured vehicle nearby. Soldiers and IPS prepare to move in, awaiting the arrival of the elite Iraqi Tactical Support Unit (TSU). Soldiers and IPS members crouch behind wall; others keep watch. 00:11:34 TSU vehicle convoy arrives (still no sound). TSU members liaise with British and IPS. TSU member keeps watch on top cover. 00:15:44 Members of the TSU move in on the target location (a compound which contains a large building) and begin searching. They enter the building, accompanied by the army and IPS. Inside and outside, the forces conduct a thorough search; they also visit local houses. They knock on the gate of a house. 00:21:33 (Footage switches to colour as dawn approaches: no sound, however). General views of surrounding area, which is mainly a wasteland with derelict buildings. TSU move on to new location, walking along rubbish-strewn roads. 00:22:48 Police inspect the gate and outer wall of another house; one of them climbs over the wall and gains access. Elsewhere, other houses are searched. TSU enter one hose and search inside a car. Further street scenes as the area search continues. Another house is entered. Courtyard is searched; there are temporary beds on the floor where the residents have been sleeping outside. 00:29:29 Members of the TSU on the street keeping watch as properties are searched. 00:32:02 Search inside property, where there is a compound containing sheep. Dark interior views. 00:32:31 TSU members descend steps outside a large building, followed by members of 1 Staffords. Patrol continues in the debris of a derelict building. 00:33:44 TSU talk with local man. Shots of TSU pick-up truck. 00:36:13 Interview with inspector from the IPS in Arabic (sound on this sequence only). 00:39:16 Interview with Major Andy Hadfield OC A Company 1 Staffords discussing Operational Codsall.
