- Description: START 00:00:00 00:01:00 Brief shaky shots in tent (taken as the camera was being prepared). 00:01:23 British Land Rovers and other vehicles line up outside Al-Amarah Stadium. 00:01:33 High angle shot from within stadium shows job applicants gathering outside. Inside, soldiers prepare. The applicants form into lines. 00:03:03 Ground level views inside the stadium show hopeful faces peering over the fence near the main entrance. The men shout and whistle and talk with British soldiers. 00:04:15 The first men are allowed into the stadium, one at a time. Some minor scuffling ensues and others try to climb over the gates. Slowly, the men are let through and are searched before proceeding. Soldiers line up to keep order as the jostling crowd moves forward. People who try to queue-jump are pushed back. A crowd gathers inside and sits down as the soldiers keep order. 00:08:34 Individuals are processed inside a tent, showing their ration cards to British soldiers (with interpreter); their numbers are recorded. 00:13:47 Applicants walk past the side of the stadium, watched over by British troops, who let them through one by one. 00:14:50 At the main gate, a group of applicants are sat on the ground behind coils of barbed wire, waiting. Others line up near the stadium itself. 00:15:32 Interview with one of the applicants through interpreter. 00:16:02 General views of the tents where applicants are being processed. 00:17:04 Men leave the stadium after submitting their numbers. 00:17:35 Main gates, where soldiers supervise the latest group of hopefuls who are clustered outside. 00:18:23 Outside, a large group of men stands and waits, watched by British soldiers. There is some scuffling and shouting. Soldiers with protective helmets and batons (which are not used) keep order. 00:19:32 Inside the stadium, Iraqi man talks through loudhailer to the crowd outside. Iraqi men lean over the fence and shout in protest, waving bloodstained handkerchiefs (the result of minor injuries). More hopefuls are let in, one at a time; they are searched. 00:21:47 View over the main gate shows large crowd still waiting; more are slowly let through and are filtered into the stadium, where thery are processed in the tents. Further views inside the tents. 00:30:40 After being processed, applicants make their way out of the stadium and exit. 00:31:09 Interview with applicants. 00:34:00 Gate scenes: man is searched by British soldier. Outside, other soldiers keep order amongst the vast crowd of hopefuls. 00:36:52 Close shot of gate, showing men being let through one by one. Men queue up. 00:38:38 (Low sound level.)
