Summary: French newsreel on the junction of the French and British forces during the Kaiserschlacht Offensive, Western Front, 1st-15th April 1918.
Description: A 145mm naval gun is stuck in soft ground despite all efforts to pull it clear with ropes. Finally sledges are fitted to the wheels and it is dragged clear. A squadron of Nieuport 28s parked on an airfield. Two seater Breguet Type 14s take off in succession. A column of De Dion lorries carrying 75mm anti-aircraft guns are halted and the guns elevated. A Mitrailleuse St Etienne machine gun is used from a trench for anti-aircraft fire. An Albatros DV captured intact is admired by civilians in a town square. Five captured German flyers come out from a shed in a railway yard and are taken on board a train. Most of them are in good spirits and wave at the camera. An aircraft in the distant sky spins out of control, recovering just above the ground and flying off. In the woods close to the undamaged village of Monchel an advanced post sets up its equipment and waits. A marching column in full kit with mounted officers comes in, clearly near the end of a tiring march but not distressed.
