Description: 13 July. A Priest gun passes the barrier at the entrance to Augusta. Panning shot from inscription 'Mare Nostrum' at the base of a stone flagpole outside the headquarters of the Italian navy to British destroyers and a troop transport in the harbour. A Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve officer Lieutenant Maitland studying the inscription, shipping is visible in the background. Sunken ships in another part of the harbour (sunk by RAF bombs).
