Soldiers of 1st Battalion the Royal Irish Regiment, assisting the Afghan National Army, help set up vehicle checkpoints on roads near Gareshk, and also intercept an illegal checkpoint (which has been set up by bogus members of the Afghan Police to extort money from passing drivers).

Various shots of patrol moving over rough terrain patrol then stops for photo's to be taken then heads back to camp. 16:25:00 Vehicle Check points with the 1st Royal Irish Rangers. G.Vs of Soldiers from 1RIR providing a perimeter defence whilst Afghan and British soldiers conduct a Vehicle check point on a road in Gareshk. 22:58:00 Long shot of vehicles being searched. 25:41:00 Afghan army receives reports of an illegal check point just down the road. Afghan police are taking money illegally from afghan locals, so we go to investigate and put a stop to this incident. 27:00:00 The patrol stops at a Afghan petrol station and asks the owner if he has had any complaints from passing drivers about this illegal check point. 29:58:00 We arrive at the illegal check point and LT Sean Kelly 1RIR questions the supposed policeman and asks for proof of ID. The Afghan Army take over the vehicle searches. Lt Kelly asks for the Chief of police to confirm if these are his men. 36:20:00 Various shots of Afghan Army searching people and vehicles. As supposed police look on. 42:22:00 Afghan soldiers providing VCP security. 45:40:00 Cpl Baxter on comms in back of snatch. 45:58:00 After receiving intelligence the Taliban have been seen moving along a road near our location the patrol moves to establish a VCP on that road. Various shots of soldiers taking up defensive positions, dust devils and locals on motor bikes and AA soldiers searching vehicles. 54:05:00 Tape ends.
