Summary: Scenes from Operation Tees, a search and arrest mission against suspected insurgents in Basra City, carried out at night by British and Iraqi forces. Partly shot with an image intensifier.
Description: Image intensifier: vehicles (including Warrior) on street in Basra. Soldiers on foot move up to suspect house with a ladder and gain entry through both the front door and upper floor using the ladder. Inside guns are found almost immediately; soldiers search the premises by torchlight. Further automatic weapons are found and two men are held prisoner. Normal camera: the search continues various items (including unprocessed film, mobile phone, ammunition, firearms, ID) are seized, photographed, inventoried and bagged. Brief interview with soldier about the raid. Image intensifier: soldiers hammer on the door of a second target house. Occupant opens the door and the soldiers (Devonshire and Dorset Light Infantry) enter. Normal camera: house is searched and the occupants are interviewed using interpreter. Street, daylight: soldiers stand by their vehicles (Snatch Land Rovers and Warriors). A third house is visited, and soldiers enter. [Tape ends.]
