Summary: Scenes from Operation Pecos, a search and arrest operation on suspect houses in Basra City.
Description: Image intensifier shots. Suspect house is approached; soldiers lay ladder against the garden wall to keep watch. Main body of platoon make entry to house; camera follows and the house is searched: the occupants, including women and children, are apprehended (off camera, but they can be heard). Shaky hand-held shots as the cameraman walks round the property, including the garden and roof terrace (where further residents, all male, are apprehended and searched before being led downstairs). The house is searched, and weapons are found. Grounds are also searched.
Normal camera. Search continues; items seized during the search (including guns and potential bob-making equipment) are laid out on the floor, labelled and photographed.
Image intensifier: shots of the suspects and of the contraband (which has now been bagged). Merlin helicopter arrives; the suspects are taken on board along with the bags of evidence. Flight back to base, where the suspects are led off the aircraft and taken into custody.
