Summary: Scenes from Operation Cypher, a search and arrest operation on suspect houses in southern Iraq by the Iraqi Police Service (IPS) and 1st Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment (Prince of Wales's Own).
Description: Line of Snatch Land Rovers at the roadside; a Warrior armoured vehicle passes. Further shots of the static convoy as it prepares. (Civilian traffic passes.) Also in the convoy are IPS pick-up trucks. Policemen wear ski masks to hide their identities as houses and outbuildings are searched in village; cars are also inspected. Soldiers and IPS return to the convoy. Contraband which has been discovered is laid out for display on the ground; this includes ammunition of various kinds (loose, in magazines and in a belt) a AK47 rifle and a machine gun. Major Richard Hall, OC A Company 1st Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment discussing support of the Iraqi Security Services on an intelligence-led operation, and the discovery of the arms cache. Further view of the haul: rocket-propelled grenades have also been found. The weapons and ammunition are bagged and taken away. Tape ends with a brief image intensifier shot of helicopter landing at night.
