Summary: Scenes, some staged, of routine patrols by the Iraqi Army in villages near Basra Air Station.
Description: Troops leave their vehicles and walk into village where they talk with local people. They patrol the outskirts of the village. Iraqi Army armoured Humvee vehicles with soldiers stationed next to them; locals gather round. Soldiers point their rifles as the Humvees drive past (stage shots for the camera.) Soldiers pose with waving children: Khaled, one of the soldiers, gives a brief greeting in Arabic; the children wave. Wristbands are handed out to the children. Further shots of Humvees on the move (this time taken from moving vehicle); gun turrets are rotated. Children wave flags as the Humvees drive into another village (no sound). Close-ups of gun turret rotating and soldiers aiming (still no sound). Humvees drive along desert road into village; soldiers meet local people. Soldier talks to camera in a posed sequence (several takes); various stages scenes of soldiers looking at the camera and advancing with their guns. Sentries in sangar look through binoculars. Soldiers undertake weapons drills on shooting range.
