Summary: Footage of a ceremony at Shaibah Logistics Base to mark the final handing over of the base from Coalition to Iraqi Army control, where it will become a training base. (The Danish Army's Camp DANEVANG, at Shaibah, is also being handed over, and this is where the ceremony took place.
Description: (Shaky shots in a vehicle park at the beginning.) Interviews with Private Daniel Silcox, Private John Molloy, Private Shane Wood, Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Jackson (CO), all of 1st Battalion the Yorkshire Regiment. Shots of Iraqi Army Humvee vehicles, plus Danish and British vehicles. Lieutenant Colonel Jackson talks with Iraqi soldiers. The Iraqis unfurl a banner marking the handover. Troops - British, Danish and Iraqi - assemble for the ceremony. Dignitaries and officers take their places. Signing of the handover documents by officers of the three forces. Last post and lowering of the British and Danish flags, and raising of the Iraqi flag. Speeches by Colonel Kim B Petersen (Commander of the Danish Battalion, speaking in English) and General Habib (GOC 10 Division Iraqi Army), coupled with the handing over of a commemorative plaque. Salute. After the ceremony, WO2 Simon Cocker (CSM of A Company) is interviewed.
