Summary: One of a series of tapes showing activities of the Army Air Corps, shot for possible use in an edited feature.
Description: Shadow of helicopter rotors on tarmac (shot from on board). Views from the now-moving helicopter showing Lynx and Merlin craft on the helipad and hovering at Basra Air Station. Aerial views of the desert around Basra, including air-to-air shots of a Lynx, which fires flares. Air-to-ground shots of Lynx touching down in the desert, throwing up large amounts of sand and dust. Camera-helicopter comes in to land in the desert. Ground-to-air shots of Lynx (plus some poor, shaky close-ups of the parched desert (cameraman's voice can be heard discussing the flypast). Various shots of second Lynx, including scenes of it landing to pick up a crewman and then redeploy him (he then advances on foot across the desert). Lynx fires flares; in the background is an oil installation/refinery. Close-ups of snipers lying prone on the desert floor; in the distance two helicopters approach and fly past, firing flares. Further air-to-air Lynx sequences. Shadow of camera-helicopter on helipad as it comes in to land; other aircraft can be seen. Camera-craft then flies around the helicopter landing area again, showing activities on the ground.
