Summary: Counter-narcotics vehicle scanner in operation in Kabul.
Description: A vehicle checkpoint at one of Kabul's city gates: two large lorries are parked for inspection, under the watchful eye of the Afghan Counter-Narcotics Police. Tools are laid out on the ground (including spanners, drills and boltcutters). At the checkpoint is a vehicle-based Rapiscan scanner, with a scanning boom large enough to be driven over a full sized lorry. Highly decorated lorry is inspected visually by policeman, who checks wheel arches and other areas with a hammer looking for hidden compartments (some shaky shots as the camera is moved around). Drill is used to check the fairings above the cab. The lorry is then checked by the scanner vehicle. Close-ups of the scanner vehicle, including computer screen showing the scan of the lorry. (The lorry itself is allowed to continue its journey.)
