  • Summary: Elements of 102 Logistic Brigade at Kandahar Airfield (KAF). Aeromedical flight within Afghanistan from Kandahar to unnamed airfield. (Note that there is no sound on this tape.)
  • Description: Scenes on board Hercules aircraft: several soldiers are seated for the flight. Loadmaster makes notes, sat beside a pallet on to which large amounts of matériel are mounted. Also present are medical supplies (oxygen cylinders, stretchers. Soldiers relax; some sleep, others read books. Close-up of Red Cross armband on one of the soldiers. The soldiers disembark from Hercules aircraft. Battlefield ambulance drives up to the aircraft and three patients are stretchered on board and secured in place (they are both Afghans). Long close-up of runners on the floor of the Hercules' hold, and shaky shots of the interior. (Black screen between 00:20:23 and 00:22:11.) Further shaky shots inside the aircraft; the patients are treated (and have their pulses taken). Aircraft taxies to a stop at destination (view of rear door). The patients are stretchered off by British troops and loaded into an ambulance. Scenes inside ambulance carrying two of the patients. On arrival at (unnamed) camp, the patients are stretchered into Afghan ambulances (one of which has "Donated by Islamic Republic of Pakistan" on the side).
