Sequences here are taken at Incirlik Airbase in Turkey, RAF Lyneham and 1st Air Base (?) in Warsaw, Poland.
  • Description: Islamabad: sacks of supplies are carried by local men from interior of Hercules aircraft into brightly-decorated lorries. Main gate sign "10 NCU Tanker us komutanligi" (10 NCU Tanker Base Command) at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey. Interview at RAF Lyneham with senior RAF officer about the NATO relief operation. Hercules aircraft on the tarmac at RAF Lyneham. Aircrew on the flight deck. Final pre-flight checks are taken and the aircraft takes off and flies over English countryside. Close-ups of flight deck activity, including pilot and co pilot at controls Shot of (currently empty) hold (Timecode resets after 20 mins). Further flight deck activity: close-up of controls. Night scenes on the flight deck - forward view as the aircraft comes in to land (this will be in Warsaw, to pick up aid from the Polish Red Cross). Personnel on the ground at the air base:preparations are made for loading. Ramps are put into place at the rear of the aircraft. Aid begins to arrive (Polish Red Cross parcels from Warsaw). Polish personnel in reflective jackets market "Straz" (guard) assist in the loading of the aid. The boxes are put into place and secured with netting. Interview (in English) with one of the Polish personnel. Further loading of aid, and shaky shots of the airfield as the cameraman repositions. Pallets of supplies are winched on board. Brief shots at end also show matériel being unloaded by tractor.
