Views of Baghdad from top cover of moving vehicle (a lot of damage can be seen, and debris litters the streets). On the ground, members of the British-US 210 MITT (Military Transition Team) talks with Iraqi Army captain (through interpreter) to get details of the current situation prior to joint patrol. They inspect a folded map. Iraqi soldiers are briefed. Iraqi Army Hummer with gun turret mounted on top. Troops prepare for patrol. They walk through streets past badly-damaged houses and past a mosque (muezzin's amplified voice can be heard). Scottish captain talks with local people. Patrol continues on foot through residential area; derelict Volkswagen Beetle is inspected. Still photographer (Corporal Ralph Merry RAF) takes pictures.
Interview with Captain Kevin Gartside of 1 Scots and 210 MITT, discussing the purpose of the joint British-Iraqi patrols, and the attempt to bring normality back to the area. (The British soldiers are here to help mentor Iraqi troops of 10 Division from the Basra area who are working in Baghdad.)
Patrol continues; talks with local men. Inspection of further abandoned cars and premises. Patrol finishes with a debriefing.
