Summary: Assorted trailers covering a wide range of topics concerning recruitment in the Royal Navy.
Description: I. Royal Marines amphibious operations. Illustration of Navy's role in commando assaults using a training exercise in Malaysia. Assault ship carries landing craft and troops who disembark and land on beach with helicopter cover. Once landed the commandos launch 81mm mortars and 120mm wombats in an attempt to "destroy enemy communications"
II. Operations, Navy Destroyer. Musically accompanied footage of HMS Sheffield at sea, with no commentary
III. Operations (HMS Sheffield and a frigate). Mute footage of HMS Sheffield on combat operations. Shots include the tracking and attack on a submarine and a lone "enemy aircraft" detailing the procedures involved and emphasising the high level of skill involved.
IV. Marine Engineering. Demonstration of the replacement of one of HMS Sheffield's turbines by the Navy's engineering unit. Particular emphasis again on the level of skill required
V. Supply and Secretariat. Demonstration of the Navy's supply and secretariat in ensuring the supply of vessels on operations avoiding their need to return to ports to replenish stocks especially now that Britain holds fewer overseas ports
VI. Supply and Secretariat. The process of replacing a microswitch on HMS Sheffield's firing mechanism. Is then incorporated into the trailer concerning combat operations (see trailers III, VII, XI and XII).
VII. Adventure and Travel. Examples of the various fields of work that the Navy carry out that take the Navy to all parts of the world. Coastal surveying in the Fijian islands, clearing mines in the Suez canal, Evacuating British nationals from war torn Cyprus, Group exercises in Hong Kong as well as shore leave in Tangier and New Zealand.
VIII. Adventure and Travel. Detailing of the Navy's underwater diving teams and their work in clearing fouling on the ship, exploding mines and even in some cases taking part in scientific exploration.

XV. WRNS/QARNNS. Commercial dealing with the role of Wrens in the operation of the Royal Navy, including the supplies and secretarial areas of the Navy and in certain operational duties. Somewhat out of date as Wrens in this footage do not serve on operational ships. Second half of footage deals with the QARNNS and Women's roles in the nursing area of the Royal Navy.
