Description: Bus crosses Australian outback, arriving at Woomera launch site (several shots). "Range E" sign. Passes inspected on bus. Staged shots of technicians working on the project (including close-ups). Maintenance, communications personnel. "Mission Control": building interior and exterior. Long sequence showing preparation of special telescopic camera. Launch site, radar arrays. Sign "Trial in Progress": more cameras prepared. (Reel 2) Long shot of site with rocket motors being tested; smoke billows out from beneath the pad but the rocket doesn't take off. Building with dish on roof. Woman in garden goes into house to answer telephone. Blue Streak rocket motors tested again: same scene as earlier but photographed from different angle. Film blank between 354 ft and 360 ft. Long shot of rocket being launched: camera is static and makes no attempt to track upwards to follow the rocket's flight. Camera holds on the launch tower for some time as the smoke clears.
