Summary:Film showing the damage and effect that the V1 bomb had on London.
Description:As people in the streets clean up, the commentary declares that "England is suffering but still alive". Footage of bombs in the sky. Scenes of devastation: a man comes home to find his house destroyed; a crashed bus; a bombed school; an airman coming home to find his house gone, too; a blitzed restaurant; a wrecked hospital and church. The rescue squad are busy saving lives; a first aid attendant who hasn't slept in three days; other men helping as they can. Airmen are seen bringing down the bombs. Meanwhile, the people continue to work and to enjoy themselves, but not knowing when the attack will come. "Fifty per cent of the V1's total of eight thousand launchings were brought down. But there was death, pain and chaos. Schools, hospitals, churches and time-famed landmarks were high on the target. The city was hurt but the city will heal." The conclusion is that nearly a hundred thousand people are working on reconstruction now and that people know there is a future.
