Description: The story of Ah Moi is told by a nurse (Jean Wright) who runs a clinic in her village. Ah Moi originally visited the clinic because her brother was ill; she was told what to do and her brother began to get better. From then on she was interested in the work of the clinic and interpreted for an old man whose dialect the nurse could not follow. The Red Cross had started a two-year training scheme for assistant nurses, and Ah Moi is shown at various times during the training. Meanwhile, the nurse is seen carrying on duties at home. The film concludes by saying that the day will come when the British Red Cross' job will be done and that all the clinics will be handed over to the women of Malaya and that 'they would faithfully carry on the work of healing among their own people just as Ah Moi had learned to do with such patience and understanding'.
