Summary: Naval assault on the Northern flank of Westkapelle by men of 41 (Royal Marine) Commando. Cameraship is LCT 789.
Description: Landing craft steam over a calm sea. LS to LCI(L)s and two LCI(S)s in line ahead - camera pans left to show more LCI(S)s. Onboard the cameraship, LCT 789, men smoke and drink tea. Cut to miscellaneous shot - HA onto starboard side of focsle on a County Class cruiser as A and B train round. Cut back to invasion flotilla as it nears the coast - cameracraft is overhauled by LCT 839. HA from the bridge along the vehicle deck - in the background is the shore and an already beached LCT, generating a white screen which drifts across the cameracraft's line of approach. MS as LCT 1109 lowers its vehicle ramp in the shallows and disembarks a LVT. On the cameracraft the men wait in their vehicles - two LVTs and a Weasel of 79th Armoured Division. Cut to shot from the shore as 789 disembarks troops. A soldier recovers dropped groundsheet and rifle from the shallows. The cameraman returns to his craft - HA as men wade ashore, one carrying a Bren - LVTs are scattered along the beach. MS of two Weasel cargo carriers parked side by side, nose to tail - just beyond them a mortar bomb (?) explodes. A LVT comes ashore - in the background 789 is already disembarking a second. A shell strikes the water astern of a beached LCT. An armoured bulldozer moves past two Shermans (only two were successfully landed). A LVT in Red Cross markings is parked in the shelter of a dyke.
