Description: I. "B-29s over Tokyo." United Newsreel footage of the Doolittle raid on Japan, showing briefing, preparations, Boeing B-29 Superfortress aircraft taking off from Saipan and aerial shots of the raid. Also footage of the Japanese retaliatory raid on Saipan; bulldozers clear wreckage from runway and B-29 flights resume. (This item has a music soundtrack.)
II. "Sixth Army Advances on Leyte." Shermans and infantry make their way through. Casualties, funeral. US-run public clinic and dispensary gives medical aid to smiling Filipinos.
III. "Plane in Full Flight Rescues Lost Airmen." (After this caption the film is spliced with sequence from WAR IN FAR EAST, according to scrawled lettering on connecting leader.) Spitfires, Mosquitos and Bostons.
IV. (Connecting leader here reads MEN OF ARNHEM although the following footage is from the Ardennes.) German film - Tigers advance; tank battle; infantry troops on move. Transport, including Panther Mk V, Mk IV Split bicycles. Normandy footage - tanks and StuG III, wrecked burning plane. More Ardennes footage, including artillery and camouflaged German tanks in woodland. Nebelwerfers fire at night. (Film ends with the Ufa logo.)
