Description: I. "Volunteers for liberty." Mass rally in Piazza del Popolo in Rome on Sunday 16 February 1945 hears Italian Prime Minister Bonomi (live), and Minister of Defence and Minister for Occupied Italy Scoccimaro reaffirm the patriotic collaboration between the Italian Army, Air Force and Navy and the Partisans of the Italian Resistance. Partisans at meeting hold placards identifying their locality (Monte Cassino, Siena) and elsewhere receive weapons, a farewell from a mother and uniforms before departing by truck to continue their successful fight alongside the Allied and Italian regular units against the enemy in Northern Italy. II. "The Departure of the Italian Ambassador for America." Italian Minister for Foreign Affairs Alcide de Gasperi and United States Ambassador to Italy Alexander Kerr see off at Rome airport Italy's new Ambassador to the USA, Alberto ?, described as a leading anti-fascist who will represent Italy's new democratic government.
