Description: A school careers master undertakes a tour to equip himself more fully to answer questions from pupils; he visits Cranwell, Henlow and an operational V-Bomber station, and meets the commander of No. 1 Radio School, Locking; in addition, the reminiscences of the men he meets recall life at the Staff College, Bracknell, operational fighter stations in Malta and Germany, and the experiences of a colleague seconded to AAFCE at Fontainebleau. The film presents a broad picture of the types of work open (technical, flying, navigation, administrative) and representative case histories of promotion; pay, living conditions, leave, recreational facilities, and the opportunities and responsibilities of the job itself are all presented as more than equal to anything offered in civilian life; as to the long-term future of the RAF and its officers, reassurance is provided that even in the guided missile age "the human brain must always remain an essential factor."
