Description: General Sir John Mogg gives a short introduction describing the role of the ASC - accompanying scenes show armoured exercise on Salisbury Plain. Main film with voiceover commentary by participants - battalion packs kit and equipment, and Bristol Britannia transport flies out troops. Advanced party carries out reconnaissance to select best areas for exercise. Main force established in camp - reveille and early morning routine, platoon forms up and marches off. Soldiers reflect on experiences in the jungle, and life in Jamaica. Corporal Bowman: "It's what we expected - it's a rich man's paradise, but it's nice to be here anyway." Final exercise is a surprise attack on a 'guerrilla' encampment in the jungle. After landing from assault craft, the Yorks enter the jungle and successfully ambush the enemy, who retreat only to encounter the Bermudans acting as stops. The guerrillas are decisively defeated. Soldiers relax after the exercise and then return home, carrying presents for parents and wives. General Mogg enthuses about the professionalism of the modern infantryman, over further scenes depicting armoured exercise. Lance Corporal Exley, however, has the last word. "The Army is sort of like a syndicate, same as at home. If you are ever stuck anywhere, you have got your mates to get you out of a jam and help you out."
