Summary: Two elderly sisters help outwit a German air invasion.
Description: The Misses Grant are on their way to the cellar following an air raid warning when they see a man in uniform collapse outside their cottage; as they bring him in, they realise it is a German parachutist, now dead, and hear the church-bell invasion warning. A 'British Officer' arrives asking for directions or a map to help him find his unit, but gives himself away as a German spy by pronouncing a 'J' as a 'Y'. One of the sisters guards him with the parachutist's pistol while the other goes to the ARP; the warden calls the LDV (coincidentally interrupting a lecture on parachutists and their equipment). Meanwhile the spy makes a break, but his attempted escape is foiled as the Grants' car and bicycle are immobilised; the LDV (destroying a parachute weapon canister en route) arrive to apprehend him. Over tea, the Grants thank the LDV leader, and he commends their action: "The front line is in every home nowadays."
