Description: The film tells the story of the advance into action from Egypt to Sidi Rezegh of the First South African Division. It records episodes in the fighting but comes to an end on the eve of the first German tank assault on the Fifth Brigade at Sidi Rezegh. A German aircraft is seen firing on Allied forces; an air fight ensues and it is shot down. Moving on, the film shows how the wear and tear leaves a strain on the vehicles. Dawn on Friday, 21st November, 1941 - the South Africans are ready to move on. The vehicles move forward, well spread out so that it is more difficult for a dive-bomber to hit them. Battle plans are discussed. The troops move forward warily, ready for action. The film concludes by indicating that twelve out of fourteen Italian tanks were lost or destroyed and shows the South African Irish rounding up the prisoners.
