Duke of Marlborough creates Royal Regiment of Artillery. Rise in the importance of artillery "even in the comparatively peaceful Nineteenth Century". Unprecedented use of massed artillery in 1914-18. Second World War - mightiest artillery barrage of all time turns the tide at El Alamein. Today Britain once again enjoys the gifts of peace - gifts which deserve the protection of the modern weapons (Corporal missile) now joining the Royal Artillery. Highlights from earlier periods - Cressy, Blenheim, Waterloo - are depicted in dramatic form, while stock shots and brief film excerpts (LONDON CAN TAKE IT and DESERT VICTORY) are used to illustrate the two World Wars.
