A Miles Marathon (Handley Page) feeder airliner is pushed out of a hangar in an undisclosed location and is later shown in flight (no livery). II. 'ITALY VOTES.' Roman citizens paste up political fly-posters which read "Basta con le Dittature", "Votate per l'Unione Democratica Nazionale" (No More Dictatorships- Vote for the Democratic Union). Salvatore Aldisio addresses crowd; woman talks into microphone; crowd claps; another speaker; Vittorio Orlando then addresses meeting. Italians queue to vote on election day. Alcide de Gasperi of the Christian Democratic Party casts his vote. Camera pans over crowded square, where citizens celebrate the creation of the new republic. Italians wave banners that read "Viva la Repubblica". De Gasperi addresses the Italian people, broadcasting by radio from his office desk (mute). III. 'ARAB LEGION PRESENTS COLOURS.' A contingent of the Arab Legion parade at a London barracks during their visit to the capital to attend the Victory Day celebrations. The Arab Legion standard is presented under armed honour guard (Lee-Enfield Mk III .303-inch rifles) to a reception committee of the Household Cavalry which is headed by Colonel Gooch. IV. 'NEWS FROM GERMANY.' Berlin civilians watch an outdoor demonstration of high-wire walking by visiting members of the "Between Heaven and Earth" acrobatic troupe.
