Men of the 1st Airlanding Brigade on one of the landing craft on which they were evacuated from Syracuse, including the US soldier Staff Sergeant Kyle who volunteered as a co-pilot in one of the gliders. Others shown who took part in the capture of a 6 gun coastal battery are Brigadier P Hicks, Commander of the 1st Airlanding Brigade; his second in command Colonel Jones; Lieutenant-Colonel Chatterton, commanding the Glider Pilot Regiment and other staff officers.
