Summary: Information and publicity film for RAF's V-bomber deterrent.
Description: A Vulcan from Scampton air-base 'bombs' London - an exercise with a radar pulse substituting for the drop. The job is not to drop the bombs, "and that's quite a thought". The V-bomber force is part of the premium necessary to insure the safety of the nation. Flight crew suits up - as one Vulcan approaches Scampton for a landing, another will take off. "Being ready is routine, and being ready is doing the job. If the real alert ever comes, they've failed." If the V-bombers are never used then they have succeeded as a deterrent. "It's the biggest no claim bonus there ever was." Vulcan B.2, XH.558 of No 27 Squadron takes off; it's "just flying around".
