Description: The film shows Oliver Lyttelton, Lord Chandos, who was appointed to persuade English and American firms to locate themselves in Northern Ireland; Ulster as an industrial area; footage of Belfast; the parliamentary buildings of Stormont; shipbuilding and marine engineering, including Harland and Wolff. Some of the new industries that have come into the area: the Hughes Tool Company of Houston, Texas; the Berkshire Knitting Mills; the firms of Dupont and Chemstrand; the Bear Manning Company (the first to come over to Northern Ireland). The education received by the children of American industrialists. The transport of finished goods, the only problem being the cost. Finally, the three main attractions in coming to Northern Ireland - a ready labour supply, modern factories and money grants.
