Description: Land reclamation surveys at Maplin Sands and the Wash use a modified SRN6 "hoverplatform" to pick up stranded crews, move pontoons etc. Box-girder sections of the Avonmouth Bridge are moved by hoverplatform. Holland - tractor-drawn hovertrailers move sections of of an oil pipeline. Large Canadian hoverplatform with 100-ton capacity. Beach firing range is cleared; small "hoverpallets" safely move munitions. Stranded airliner is towed to runway by series of hoverplatforms. A CEGB generator, being moved by road, is cushioned by air - it can then travel over unstrengthened bridges. A 630-ton storage tank is moved by attaching an air cushion - the largest load ever lifted and supported by air.
