Description: A series of brief reconstructions of medical incidents attended to by Queen Alexandra nurses, and some historical background, precedes an account of the training and life of QARANC personnel. After five weeks basic training (both military and medical) at Aldershot training centre, recruits move on to a military hospital for "on the job" training as State Enrolled Nurse or State Registered Nurses; specialisations are described. Opportunities for travel (Hong Kong, Germany). Training meets all the standards of the General Nursing Council and there is the option for further specialisation eg midwifery or as army officer. Sports and leisure opportunities (including parachuting) are also shown.
