Summary:Short (recruitment) film covering the preparations for a Vulcan flight out of RAF Waddington to Akrotiri, Cyprus.
Description:An Avro Vulcan bomber lands at an airfield (RAF Waddington, Lincolnshire) where it is towed in to a hangar for maintenance. A second Vulcan is prepared and fuelled up. WAAF officer drives bus. On the Vulcan a leaking oil tube is detected. WAAF requisitions replacement part; quartermaster processes paperwork and comes up with a new tube. Scenes in the officers' mess. Personnel: WAAF processes leave application. Scenes of map room, ops room, air traffic control. Typist and computer are shown. Vulcans at Akrotiri; crews prepare for flight, dinghies and parachutes are packed, pilots board - mission gets under way. Final montage shows all the various people who had taken part in keeping the Vulcans operational.
