Summary: How to clear a bombed building in search of survivors.
Description: The commentary explains the five stages of rescue - reconnaissance, immediate rescue of known survivors, rescue from likely locations, selected debris clearance and finally complete clearance, the last being the subject of this film which is in the form of a rescue party exercise looking for an unaccounted for woman in a collapsed building. The team start work clearing a path, taking care to shore up timbers etc to prevent further collapse on any remaining survivors. The immediate area of the bomb blast is carefully examined (using rubber gloves in case of infection) for any signs of the woman. The casualty is found elsewhere and carefully removed.
