Summary: The first of fourteen cans of unedited material connected with the day-to-day routine of the Berlin airlift, clearly recognisable as offcuts, unused rushes etc. from the compilation film BERLIN AIRLIFT, held as COI 177 (or, more accurately, of the parent film ROSINENBOMBER, held as COI 178).
Description: Reel consists mainly of footage showing RAF land-based aircraft involved in the airlift, with take-offs and landings, maintenance and refuelling, loading and unloading (by day and night). Aircraft involved are Dakotas, Skymasters, Yorks and Lancasters. There are also some scenes of air traffic control caravans etc and a few establishing shots of Berlin.
