Description: 1. Scheer through icepack. Arado Ar 196 catapulted off. U-251 comes alongside to refuel and take on supplies, 20 August. Marines practice grenade throwing and shooting. Alarm sequence in engine room. 2. Scheer's pinnace comes alongside with survivors from Russian icebreaker Alexander Sibiriakov, 25 August. Scheer at anchor. Firing at and sinking tanker Valerian Kuibischev, 27 August. Firing at Port Dickson. Pinnace nears tanker. 3. Semi-edited compilation opens with pre July 5 sortie film: Scheer in Altenfjord has quadruple flak lifted aboard, Arado catapulted off, Lützow in background, Tirpitz, Hipper, Scheer and Richard Beitzen leaving Altenfjord on 5 July. Then Kara Sea cruise of Scheer: Captain Meendsen-Bohlken watching 100000000 revs clocking up on 28 August, firing at icebreaker, tanker and Port Dickson, pinnace alongside with survivors, smokescreen, Admiral Kummetz addressing crew of Scheer and awarding medals at end of cruise. 4. Similar to Reel 3, then: two S-Boats in escort, Scheer in fjord with crew on deck; Tirpitz nearby. Scheer weighs anchor. Smokescreen. 5. Scheer firing at Port Dickson. Through fog and snow.
