Summary: Members of 1st Battalion the Rifles, accompanied by the Afghan National Army (ANA), on patrol in the Nawa-i-Barakzayi district.
Description: Patrol shots in rural area: soldiers have a brief exchange of fire with distant insurgents. Soldiers continue on foot across field (high above a helicopter is flying). Various walled compounds are passed. Captain Chaganis, patrol commander of "Amber 42" consults map and carries out a radio check, before isntructing his troops to make their way back to the PB (patrol base): he gives a report to camera about the mission to tackle known groups of enemy forces in the Nawa area. The troops make their way back; Apache helicopters provide air cover. Return to Patrol Base Jaker: piece to camera by Officer Commanding C Company about the surge operation. Soldiers relax as the sun sets.
