Summary: Description of and methods of dealing with the British 30lb incendiary bomb.
Description: An example of the bomb, the 30lb I.B. (Mk I), is held for the camera. Diagrams give details of its construction and contents - phosphorus and a sticky petrol mixture. The bomb is shown exploding. A fire fighting demonstration is then given in a factory yard. The numerous small patches of burning material produced by the exploding bomb are extinguished using earth, sand (poured from bags), water (from a stirrup pump) and a foam fire extinguisher. A large fire hose is used to reach fires high up on the wall of the building. Combustible material is scraped of the wall with shovels. Two demonstrations of dropping the bomb into a wooden shed are given and the resulting fires tackled.
