Summary: A description of and demonstration of fire fighting techniques on the American 100 lb incendiary bomb.
Description: An example of the bomb is held for the camera. Diagrams give its specifications. This bomb - containing a sticky petrol mixture (no phosphorus) - is set off by a large explosive charge which spreads small bits of burning material over a large area. In a demonstration, the bomb is shown exploding in a wooden shed, which is almost demolished by the blast. The fire is fought with water and sand, the residue being shovelled up carefully. The bomb is also seen going off in a closed room and is successfully extinguished by prompt action with sand and water, and with a large fire hose.
