Summary: General instructions for piloting the Ju 88.
Description: The crew board the aircraft and the pilot carries out pre-flight checks. The aircraft is started up, the autopilot set, trim and airscrew pitch adjusted, flaps lowered and the aircraft taxies out and takes off. Undercarriage flaps are raised, and the aircraft switched to autopilot. Instructions are given for jettisoning bombs and fuel if necessary prior to landing. The landing procedure is then shown: autopilot off, flaps and undercarriage down etc. The aircraft taxies in and stops. Brief instructions for control of the aircraft during dive-bombing are then given (with the aid of diagrams) and the observer's eye view of a dive is shown. A staged demonstration is given of destroying the aircraft after a forced landing in enemy country by detonating an incendiary over the fuel tank. Brief details of the stowage and operation of the inflatable dinghy are also given. Finally, instructions for landing when using the blind landing equipment are given (a diagram shows the pattern of the signal beams, but the equipment is not shown).
