Summary: Instructions for mounting and testing a carrier for SD-2 fragmentation bombs on a Bf 109E or F.
Description: Four ground crew carry the carrier up to the parked Bf 109. The electrical connectors and emergency release are retrieved from behind a panel on the underside of the aircraft and connected to the carrier which is lifted into position. The crew report smartly to an officer and then test the carrier by closing each bomb holder (96 in all), switching on the control panel in the cockpit and pressing the release. A second check is carried out using the emergency release handle. A box containing 96 of the SD-2 bombs is brought up and each one is fitted to the carrier (instructions are given on how to handle each bomb). The circuit is checked and warning flags planted around the aircraft. The crew again report briskly to the officer. Instructions for unloading the bombs are then given. A clip is put on each bomb to make it safe and the bombs are released four at a time into a blanket. Each is made safe and stowed in the box. The carrier is then removed using the reverse of the mounting procedure.
