Summary: The operation and firing procedure of the FZG 76 (V1 flying bomb).
Description: (Reels 1 and 2) The film shows component parts of the bomb: the air log, compass, detonators, fuel tank, aerial (fitted to some models for monitoring), propulsion system and control system describing in detail with slow motion film and diagrams the operation of the pulse jet and air shutter valve and of the guidance system. The stages of manufacture, assembly and transport to the firing point are set out on a chart.
(Reel 3) The firing procedure is then shown. The firing piston and sealing tube are inserted into the firing ramp and the bomb loaded on. The firing unit is fuelled with 'T-' & 'Z-Stoff' and attached to the end of the ramp. The firing sequence is initiated and the bomb fired. A diagram shows the intended flight path of the bomb. Its ability to change course after firing is also demonstrated. The film closes with a sequence of several firings (some in slow motion) and an air-to-air shot of the bomb in flight. The bomb is also seen diving into the sea.
