Summary: Part of the second part of a survey on rocket development, dealing principally with BMW rocket motors.
Description: (Reel 1) A laboratory demonstration of the violent reaction resulting from mixing the fuel and oxidant (nitric acid) used in BMW liquid fuelled motors is given. Various BMW motors are shown being fuelled and then fired on test rigs. The control room with monitoring equipment for these tests is shown.
(Reel 2 - but see notes) A small missile (somewhat similar to the 'Feuerlilie' in appearance) is seen on a launcher set up in a large open area. A series of attempted launches is shown, not all successful, from various camera positions (and mostly in slow motion).
