Summary:
Description: I. Italy versus Germany athletics competition in Stuttgart. Scenes from the high jump, pole vault and 400 metres in which the German competitor (Gardi ?) beats the Italian Mario Lanzi. Spectators include Wehrmacht officers.
II. Hitler congratulates Gustav Krupp on his 70th birthday. Hitler steps down from a plane en route to the Villa Hügel in Essen. Inside the Krupp mansion Hitler speaks to Gustav, who wears the Iron Cross, while Ley and Alfried Krupp are visible to the rear. Ecstatic crowds greet Hitler as he visits the Essen plant, escorted by Erich Müller in a dark suit and Director Goerens who wears a dark banded hat.
III. Hitler receives General Dietl at Obersalzberg. Dietl arrives at the Berghof to receive the Knight's Cross with Oak Leaves for his service in Norway. Hitler and Dietl stand silhouetted inside the Berghof against the panoramic window, then stand over a map together.
IV. Scharnhorst and Admiral Hipper off Norway. Germany's new bases from France's Atlantic coast to Norway will be used to continue the fight against England. Scharnhorst with Arado 196 on catapult lies at anchor in port (Trondheim ?). Admiral Hipper and escort of Leberecht Maass Class destroyers steam out of fjord (Trondheim on 20/6/1940 ?). Aerial view of Scharnhorst with escort at sea (probably on return from Trondheim to Kiel on 21/6/1940). Early version S-boats at sea within sight of land reportedly attack British shipping in the Channel. S-Boat fires single and double torpedo salvoes and a ship burns offshore.
V. Italian Air Force Savoia-Marchetti SM 79 bomb British positions at Mersa Matruh.
VI. Stukas dive-bomb English coast. Forming part of the ever-tightening blockade of Britain, Stukas in formation peel away to attack "torpedo and submarine bases". Views of cockpit and plane releasing three small and one larger bomb, to strains of "Wir fahren gegen Engelland". Cut-in of sinking ship with smoke.
