- Description: I. Construction of autobahn in Bohemia. Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia is being integrated into German autobahn network by continuing work, despite the war, on new road in Bohemia. Road is surveyed, made up and rolled. II. Italian settlement of Libya. Arid Kalaland (Calanscio in Libya ?), previously unsettled, now has housing and administrative buildings in the desert, filmed from the air. III. Germans and Russians fix resettlement of their populations. Agreement between Germany and Russia to resettle their respective peoples living in former territory of Poland has been taken in hand. Outside view of Wawel Castle (administrative centre of Government General), where Soviet delegation to Cracow meets Dr Hans Frank and his deputy Governor-General Seyss-Inquart. Russians, all in suits, shake hands with Nazis in uniform. Germans later visit winter sports resort of Zakopane, arriving in buggies and ascending mountain by cable railway to view surrounding snow-covered summits. IV. Russian Embassy reception for Soviet trade delegation to Berlin. Members of delegation led by Commissar Tevosyan and his deputy General Nosenko attend reception given by Ambassador Schwartzev at end of successful negotiations after long stay in Germany to discuss details of the Economic and Trade Agreement. German guests include high-ranking Luftwaffe and Army officers. V. Liner Bremen returns safely to Germany. Supposed British blockade of North Sea fails to prevent Bremen reaching home port (Hamburg). Views of liner at sea and of bridge, as well as floatplane flying alongside, precede ship tying up. Liner's captain Kommodore Ahrens and part of brave crew receive jubilant welcome in Berlin. VI. Viennese Ice Sports Club performs in Prague. Ice-skaters visiting the Czech Sports Club perform inside Prague's ice-skating stadium. VII. Germans repair destroyed bridge over Vistula. Task of repairing damage in former Poland is under way as German sappers remove remains of old bridge over Vistula at Torun with aid of dynamite and frogman. Pontoon bridge built by Germans carries traffic until opening of new bridge allows train to pass across. VIII. Hess inaugurates work on Oder-Danube Canal. Hess turns the first spade on the great canal which will link Upper Silesia with Vienna. Animation shows how waterway will connect German North Sea and Baltic with Black Sea and thereby facilitate trade with Balkans. IX. Hess opens Adolf Hitler Canal. In spite of war Canal is completed on time. Hess opens lock on Canal which now links (animation) industrial area of Upper Silesia with the Oder. X. German women replace men to help war effort. Volunteer female helpers (Landjahr) assist agriculture by ploughing, binding straw and feeding and milking cows. Elsewhere (Munich) soldiers deliver panniers of dirty clothes for washing by members of the Bund deutscher Mädel (wearing Süd Hochland arm badges). Commentary states that many hitherto male jobs are now successfully done by women, as females sort mail, put on uniform hats and leave sorting office by bicycle and on foot to deliver post. Girl works as conductress on Berlin tram travelling towards Brandenburg Gate.
