Description: German prisoners with a French escort move along a trench. French wagons arrive in a farmyard where German prisoners rest or wander about without restraint. A large cultivated area with German prisoners standing in 'blocks' of a few hundred men. French guards remove the belts, braces and trouser buttons of their captives to hinder escape. A few German prisoners escorted by French dragoons, the latter apparently in the uniform of 1914. A column of prisoners on foot, described as "German hussars" but probably Infantry; the escort and watching French soldiers appear to be wearing horizon blue with red trousers. A second and third column pass the same location. A group of German officers stands and waits, the camera has concentrated on one tough professional who looks amused. Germans rest in a temporary 'cage' of a few strands of barbed wire. Just off a road along which French transport passes captured German guns are on display, mainly 77mm field guns and 170mm wheeled mortars, 1915 or later.
