Title:GERMAN PRISONERS IN FRANCE (continuation) [Allocated Title]
Film Number:IWM 1062-16
Other titles:
Summary: German prisoners being escorted through rear areas by French soldiers, 1914 or 1915.
Description: The film describes the prisoners as the "result of the great French victory in Champagne". They are led into a large cultivated area, standing in 'blocks' of a few hundred men. Dragoons, apparently in the uniform of 1914, escort the prisoners back. Germans rest in a temporary 'cage' of a few strands of barbed wire - most acknowledge the camera. More prisoners are marched into the cages, being given loaves of bread by their escorts - a French officer interferes to make sure this is in camera-shot. The prisoners eat and rest.
