Passing some kind of landing ship and small coaster fitted and marked as a hospital ship. More views of landing craft heading upstream. In fading light, silhouettes of troops unloading supplies from a landing craft. Daylight; on open ground a large lorry and a 5.5-inch medium gun of B Troop, 19 Battery, 6th Medium Regiment, Royal Artillery. Gun and gunners unloading ammunition from the lorry and carrying it away. Gunners haul on a rope to move their gun. Gunners eating. A battery surveyor (possibly of 2nd Survey Regiment, Royal Artillery) uses a theodolite. Erecting a camouflage net. Preparing ammunition. Close-up fusing a shell. Stacking ready ammunition. Three gunners at a map table; pan to wireless set and signallers. On an airstrip men stand about while two others tend to a Stinson Sentinel light aircraft. At the battery three men, including the Battery Major, Major Green, in discussion over a map. More ammunition is unloaded from a landing craft and carried up a muddy beach. A gun under a camouflage net is prepared for firing. Wide shot of the battery; two guns (one in front and out of shot frame right) fire simultaneously and the muzzle blast of the nearer gun kicks up debris in the foreground. The further gun is fired again.
